About the Easthampton Historical Society
A Museum Home on Holyoke Street
The Easthampton Historical Society was founded in 1972 to preserve the history of Easthampton and the people of the town. Located in Hampshire County in western Massachusetts, the society has been headquartered since 1976 in a former private residence at 7 Holyoke Street, which was donated to the organization and now serves as its museum. Inside, rooms decorated in the style of the Victorian era display the society's holdings, which are organized by category so visitors can explore different aspects of Easthampton's past.
Beyond its exhibits, the society functions as a research resource for the community. Volunteers respond to inquiries from genealogists and local historians researching Easthampton families, houses, and organizations, and a formal research request service is available for a modest fee.
